Anjali T. Nagpal

Anjali Nagpal began her career as a summer associate at the firm in 1989, where she established her skills as a litigator until 1998. She continued to pursue the practice of law at two different firms. Subsequently she enjoyed a stint as an independent contractor on the asbestos circuit while she raised her family. During this time she enjoyed the practice of law as a respite from toddlers at home! Anjali made a full circle returning to Burnham Brown.  In her 30 years as an attorney, Anjali has defended clients in multiple arbitrations, mediations, and depositions, and taken countless depositions of parties, witnesses and experts in a variety of fields including construction site catastrophic injuries, product liability, motor vehicle, bicycle accidents, dental malpractice and employment related matters.  

Anjali strength is her versatility in the application of her litigation skills in a variety of practice groups. She lends her support to Burnham Brown’s as the need arises including handling trucking accidents, product liability, employment and assisting residential landlord clients in lease negotiations. 

Practice Experience

  • Skilled at taking and defending depositions including; a variety of experts from dentists, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, psychiatrists/psychologists, economists, vocational rehabilitation consultants, biomechanical engineers and accident reconstruction consultants.
  • Defend landlords in claims involving mold and mildew.
  • Represent product manufacturers and retailers in product defect claims.
  • Defend and counsel employers in wrongful termination matters, sexual harassment and discrimination cases.
  • Represent dentists in malpractice cases.
  • Asbestos litigation, primarily lead defense counsel in plaintiff depositions.
  • Construction defect litigation.
  • Defend premises liability claims.

Litigation

  • Experience includes multiple jury and bench trials, along with hundreds of arbitrations and mediations.
  • Appealed and argued before the Ninth Circuit.

Advice & Counsel

  • Investigated pre-litigation claims of harassment and discrimination  for small businesses and made recommendations for organizational changes and disciplinary action. 
  • Provided advice to small business employers for discipline and termination protocols.
