Burnham Brown attorney Paul Caleo has been appointed the inaugural Chair of the Defense Research Institute's (DRI) Retail and Hospitality Committee. DRI describes itself as "the voice of the defense bar" and is the international organization that defends the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. One of DRI's stated goals is to be a counterpoint to the plaintiff's bar and seek balance in the justice system. Caleo will serve an initial term that runs through to the end of October 2011.
Concurrently, Mr. Caleo has also been appointed the Program Chair for DRI's 2011 Strictly Retail seminar that is now scheduled for May 11-12 in Chicago. DRI's Strictly Retail Seminar will provide targeted legal education and professional development forums on the most pertinent legal and risk management issues facing retailers and their counsel today while providing first class networking opportunities for everyone involved.
Mr. Caleo is also the chair of Burnham Brown's Retail and Hospitality Practice Group.
