Presenters:

Aimee Hamoy (Moderator):

Aimee Hamoy is a litigation partner with extensive trial experience.  She started her legal career as a deputy district attorney (2002 to 2005) and for the last 15 years has represented public entity clients and large national retailers in all aspects of conflict resolution from pre-litigation negotiations through verdict and appeal.  Some of her most interesting and challenging work has been in the defense of law enforcement officers across Northern California in civil rights, excessive force, and wrongful death claims.  Aimee’s trial experience includes excellent results involving TBI claims, wrongful death, and catastrophic injury matters.

Adrienne Publicover (Presenter)

Adrienne Publicover, Esq. is a highly effective mediator and arbitrator at JAMS who handles matters nationwide involving insurance, ERISA claims, employment, landlord tenant, personal injury and healthcare.  Adrienne utilizes technology and videoconferencing to help resolve matters where parties are located across the US.

Adrienne’s clients extol her ability to quickly create rapport with parties to achieve results. With 25 years of litigation experience, Adrienne brings a solution-driven style and the ability to forge personal connections in often sensitive and contentious cases. Regarded by clients as an empathetic listener, Adrienne works to understand parties’ goals and what they hope to achieve within the ADR process. With her intimate knowledge of the decision-making process within insurance companies, Adrienne is able to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each case to reach a deal with all parties.

Komal Chokshi (Presenter)

Komal Chokshi joined the University of California’s Office of the General Counsel in May 2017 as a member of the litigation group, specifically in the area of professional liability.  Komal oversees professional liability litigation and claims across the University of California system.  Prior to joining the Office of the General Counsel, she worked for the San Francisco office of a national law firm, managing medical malpractice suits, handling healthcare regulatory investigations, and counseling healthcare entities.  

Komal was also a member of the American Arbitration Association’s National Healthcare Panel, as well as a volunteer arbitrator with the State Bar of California fee-arbitration program and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).  She is a double University of California graduate with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley and a Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Davis.  Komal is co-chair of UC Legal’s outside counsel diversity goal, was a member of California Minority Counsel Program’s inaugural class of CMCP Ambassadors and participated in the creation of the San Francisco Bar Association’s 2015 Goals and Timetables for Minority Hiring, Retention and Advancement.  She lives in San Francisco with her husband and 9-year-old daughter.
